Yarra/Dandenong Ranges

When you think of the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges the first things that come to mind are vineyards and hot air balloons. However, it is also filled with luscious hiking trails scattered in the depths of the greenest fern forests that you can imagine. Wildlife abounds in this area – listen out for the lyrebirds which mimic other birds and animals. Take in the beautiful scenery from Healesville to the valleys and rivers of Marysville and Warburton. After your hike, check out the rest of Australia’s native wildlife at Healesville Sanctuary, home to dingoes, kangaroos, wombats and the elusive platypus.
