Alice Springs to Uluru – Westprint Outback Map and Travel Guide coverage includes Ayers Rock, The Olgas, Old Gunbarrel Highway, and extends southward to Marla and north to Conners Well. Also included is Hermannsberg, The Larapinta Drive, Glen Helen, Kings Canyon and the Gary Junction Road from the Tanami Road to Sandy Blight Junction.
A feature of all Westprint maps is the amount of text of historic and tourist interest. The map contains numbered symbols cross-referenced to detailed information on each numbered site. Intermediate and major distances are clearly shown and there are symbols for fuel locations, rest areas, caravan parks and camp sites. Early explorers routes have been colour-coded. There are also GPS co-ordinates.
Some of the most unusual landforms in the world can be found in Central Australia. Ancient riverbeds and mountain ranges contrast with red sand dunes and desert oaks. Mt Conner, Uluru and Kata Tjuta – known as the Three Tors of Central Australia – are all quite different and yet offer equally unusual features. Other unique attractions include Kings Canyon, Palm Valley and Henbury Meteorite Craters.
Much of this area has only been accessible to visitors for about 30 years and some roads and facilities are well suited to the modern adventurer. Len Beadell’s Gunbarrel Highway is also shown although travel permits can be difficult to obtain.
Central Australia is one of the World’s unique regions; the Australian Outback. This map has been designed to enhance the enjoyment of all visitors to this area.
