The Crux system delivers 20% more water with each sip than the previous-generation CamelBak reservoir, helping you drink efficiently while remaining on the move. Its Big Bite Valve self-seals after drinking, while the one-handed on/off lever allows the tube to be securely closed when stored or transported.

An ergonomic handle makes the reservoir easier to hold while filling, and the wide access port simplifies cleaning and drying. The integrated baffle helps the filled reservoir maintain a slimmer profile inside compatible hydration packs while reducing water movement on the trail.

Care Instructions

Clean the reservoir and drinking tube after each use and allow every component to air-dry completely before storage. Use warm water and mild detergent for routine cleaning or maintain the system with a compatible CamelBak cleaning kit. Clean the reservoir more thoroughly after carrying sports drinks or other liquids containing sugar.

Bicycle enthusiast Michael Eidson was competing in the "Hotter'N Hell 100," and that's exactly what it is to this day: a 100-mile road race, over four days in the grueling summer heat of Wichita Falls, Texas. Water is vital to surviving the race, but there are few places to refill, let alone time to stop. An emergency medical technician by trade, Eidson came up with a solution on the fly: he filled an IV bag with water, slipped it into a white tube sock (yes, an actual tube sock), and stuffed the whole contraption into the back of his bike jersey. He then threw the hose over his shoulder and clamped it shut with a clothespin. Hands-free hydration was born. And CamelBak was created to pursue it.
