Sydney is the capital of New South Wales and Australia’s largest city with a population of over four million people. Not only is something always going on in this vibrant and exciting city but it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
From its humble beginnings as the first European settlement in eastern Australia, Sydney has grown to be counted amongst the world’s most readily recognised cities.
Thanks to much-loved icons such as the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and the city’s remarkable setting on magnificent Sydney Harbour, this is a city not soon forgotten.
Sydney’s history, as well as its diverse and multicultural community, means there is a wide range of things to do and see here.
There’s so much choice: try relaxing on one of Sydney’s famous beaches, exploring the historic Rocks area, enjoying superb shopping and dining at Darling Harbour, experiencing the colour and character of Kings Cross or soaking up the beautiful weather on the harbour or in one of the many parks and gardens scattered throughout the city centre.
