The shortest, yet one of the most rewarding for novice walkers, Erskine Falls offers a quick step workout for a very rewarding view. This hike is suitable for most people, however note that many steps are involved.
Lorne is a beautiful area and offers some stunning hikes within the Otway Forest Park. Countless waterfalls and river crossings, forest ferns – what more could you want? Views? Yes there are some views on offer too, but in all honesty when you have waterfalls, who needs views?
Trail Head Options:
- Drive to Erskine Falls Car Park off Erskine Falls Access Road.
Erskine Falls Walking Track to the lower viewing patform is a short 1km return trail and will take about 30 minutes to complete.

It is always nice to complete any hiking trails in the region after recent rainfalls maximising water flow at the waterfalls.

At the Erskine Falls Car Park, head towards the information board. Access to Erskine Falls is down this staircase.
Upper Erskine Falls Lookout is to the left. Then continue down to the lower viewing platform.

Continue straight ahead to the lower viewing platform.

Continue back to the car park.
If you’d like to do a little something extra, you can go for a short walk to the left and check out the cascades.
On the way back up the stairs, keep to the left to return to the car park.
