Wombelano Falls

Wombelano Falls is located off Captains Creek Road in Kinglake West. This short 1.5km circuit walking track winds through forest with big old growth trees and leads to the falls viewing platform.

This walking track is perfect for Kinglake residents who want a short getaway close-by. Also not far away is The Gums Camping Area.

This is a Grade 3 walk. Total distance of the track is 1.5km. Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may have short steep hill sections a rough surface and several steps.

Trail Head Options:

  • The only way to get to Wombelano Falls Carpark is by car. Take Extons Road off Whittlesea-Kinglake Road (C724), then right onto Captains Creeks Road until you reach Wombelano Falls Carpark.

Wombelano Falls is a 1.5km track which will take about 30 minutes to complete. The walking trail offers a beautiful view of Wombelano Falls. Some sections may be muddy if it has recently rained.

  • Jump back in your car and head home.
  • Masons Falls and Mount Sugarloaf are not far away (to be added soon).

Enter onto the walking trail and continue STRAIGHT ahead.

Go STRAIGHT here. You can go either way as it is a loop, but for this review we are going straight.

The trail is straightforward. Follow the path, enjoy nature, and relax.

Turn RIGHT here towards the Wombelano Falls viewing area.

Make your way back to the Carpark.

Continue STRAIGHT here.
